10,000 people!?!

Hello guys.

I was just going through some stats today and found that the blog has had more than 10,000 visitors! I can’t believe it. When I started out as a high school student trying to find friends online, I had no idea this blog would reach so many people. Of course, there are so many blogs out there that hit higher numbers but that’s no the point. I can’t imagine 10,000 people inside a stadium and I definitely can’t imagine all of them wanting to read what I write. I don’t post as often as I used to and I’m sorry about that. Hopefully that will change soon. If you’re reading this and you’ve been reading my stuff, please say hi in the comments or shoot me a mail. I love meeting people. I’d love to say hi. Lots of love to all of you. Have a great day!

Sunshine Blogger Award

Once in a while, some really kind person sends an award nomination my way and I get the time to work on it. I am really sorry if I there are others who have sent me award nominations and I have not done a post on them. I really appreciate you guys and these nominations really make my day. I never thought I would find such a friendly audience. I am not talking about numbers, I am talking about kind and supportive you guys are. So thank you, for making this blog a great blessing.

We have one great blogger to thank for this post. Alan over at Fuel For The Race writes some amazing stuff. He’s one gem of a person and I can’t thank him enough for the kind words he said about me. Do go over and show him some love.

About the award:

This award is given to creative, positive and cheerful bloggers by other bloggers as a token of appreciation and admiration.

Here are the rules:

• Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to him/her.

• Answer the 11 questions provided by the blogger who nominated you.

• Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.

• Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.

• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post.

Here are the questions that Alan asked me and my answers to them:

Who encouraged you to launch a blog?

The truth is that nobody did. I was genuinely interested in the concept of being able to connect with people I probably might never meet through my writing. Blogging was also a great way of recording my thoughts. I wanted WordPress to be like a hard drive for my creativity. That being said, my family has always supported my writing. Their encouragement has been a great reason why I have been able to keep going. A lot of credit goes to my parents who have sponsored me since my birth. Whenever I’ve needed something to further my talents, they’ve always been very generous.

Who was your first blogger-friend & what drew you to that writer?

This is a very hard question because there were many. I can’t think of one single person specifically. But the ones who were there were so supportive. From giving me suggestions to praying for me, a lot of my blogging friends have become friends in life. I’m very thankful for that. To answer the question what drew me to them, I would have to say it was the sincerity in their writing.

What country, or state are you writing from?

I am currently writing from Hyderabad in India. I study here. But Kerala is my home state.

Has your writing evolved over time & why?

I’d like to think so. Coming to college, meeting new people, the change in the kind of books I read, has influenced the way I write.

Be honest with me on this one.  How often do you consider the unseen spiritual aspect beyond the tangible?  If “never” is the answer, let me know.  It’s okay.  No tricks.

Haha. That’s a good question. I am genuinely interested in the topic. Being a Christian also has made me ponder on such things a lot.

Do you have a pet?

I don’t. But the campus I live in has a lot of tame dogs and cats which is definitely a treat.

When you wake up in the morning, what is your first thought?

Being a college student, my first thought is usually whether or not I have overslept. That usually leads to me frantically jumping out of bed, or a very slow, calm sigh. After that I like to put on some music and get ready for class.

Do you eat breakfast?  If so, what does it consist of?

I usually have a very light breakfast. I have it from the hostel where I live and it usually is some South Indian food. When I’m back home, my mom makes me a very bitter, extremely nutritious smoothie every morning, which gets me going.

If you’re still friends with a childhood pal, tell me what has kept you together?

I never had many friends as a kid. Also since I’m still a teenager, it’s not like childhood was a long time ago. The friends from school I still have contact with are some very kind guys who decided to hang out with a weird kid and make his schooldays a lot more interesting.

What keeps you returning to the same blogger?

Connection. Once I feel like I’ve connected well with someone, no matter the quality of the content they put out, I still like to show up to say hi.

Does your own family read your posts?

Yeah. It’s a great joy.

I’ve decided not to nominate anyone this time. I’ve not been able to read a lot of blog posts and I don’t think I have a good enough idea to do justice to it. That being said, I’m still going to put up 11 questions. You are all welcome to any question you like. It could be a great way to connect, which is what this blog is all about.

My 11 questions:

  1. If you could be a teacher, what would you teach?
  2. A simple thing about nature that fascinates you.
  3. Your favourite spot on the earth?
  4. If you could have a cartoon character as your best friend, who would it be?
  5. An underrated artist.
  6. Something interesting you can do.
  7. What do you think is most important in a relationship?
  8. What nickname would you give yourself?
  9. If you could give water another colour, what would it be?
  10. The best blogging tip you ever got.
  11. What would you name your autobiography?

I know. These questions are kinda weird. I just wanted you guys to forget about your worries and just be a kid for a few seconds. It helps. I hope some of you answer these. I would love to read them.

God bless! Have a blast existing!

Sunshine Blogger Award!

It’s so awesome to be part of something like this. I’d like to thank my dear friend, Stuart L. Tutt for nominating me. He shares his life, the highs and he lows, at his site over at stubaby777.wordpress.com. He loves God and it’s a great joy to be a part of his life here at WordPress.

So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Here are the rules :

• Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to him/her.

• Answer the 11 questions provided by the blogger who nominated you.

• Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.

• Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.

• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post.

Here are Stu’s questions to his nominees along with my answers to them:

1. What brings joy to your life?

First of all, my family brings a great deal of joy into my life. A lot of great friends (including the ones here at WordPress) also are a big part of my life. But when it comes down to it, on a very personal and intimate level, I find great joy in art. Although music is what I enjoy most, I still find a great deal of joy in many other art forms. And I’m thankful to God for that every single day.

2. If money was not an issue, what would be your dream job?

That’s a great question. I really want to be that guy who goes on stage and does ted talks and inspires people. I really have this dream of being able to combine philosophy ,music and art and being able to present that to people. If I could make a living out of that, that would be awesome. I love being on stage and sharing something I care about.

3. What are two gifts the Lord has blessed you with, spiritually or physically?

I would say music and confidence. But that being said, there are a lot of other things that I am very grateful for. But those are the two that popped up in my brain first.

4. What post or posts touched you so deeply that you felt “everyone needs to read this!”?

That is a hard question because I’ve not been on WordPress for a long time. So, I’ll just mention one post I really enjoyed in my meagre exploring on my Reader. Tosin over at Alethea’s Mind wrote this beautiful post called Sitting. Watching. Doing. Nothing. You can read it here: https://aletheasmind.wordpress.com/2019/06/27/sitting-watching-doing-nothing/

5. Which blogger would you do a Blogger Spotlight on and why?

To be honest, Stu, you’d be one for sure. I think you have a lot to say, whether it be about your journey out of pornography or just about life.

6. What does love mean to you?

Now that is one hard question! But nevertheless, I’ll try to make it as short as I can. I believe love holds everything together. The Bible says that ‘God is love’. That’s such an interesting line. It’s the most powerful reason possible for something. And I believe that true love brings truth into perspective.

7. If you could choose one attribute of Jesus to follow closer than any other, which one would it be?

I would love to be as approachable as Jesus is.

8. In your eyes, what is the hardest part of being a Christian?

Learning the true meaning of humility.

9. What do you want to be most remembered for?

I want to be remembered by my face and not by name( I might make that into a log post in a few days). I want to be known as the one who stayed when everyone else left. I want to be someone who believed in people.

10. Which Bible verse holds the most meaning to you and why?

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21. This verse empowers me spiritually because I have been given freely a position that now gives me perspective. And this perspective is what helps me lead the life that God wants for me.

11. Since it’s July, how do you celebrate the 4th?

Since I’m Indian, I don’t necessarily celebrate July the fourth. But I’m really happy for my American friends and share in their joy. But this past July 4th, I woke up in the afternoon, had a great lunch, went out and made some music. 🙂

My Nominees:

Tosin over at Alethea’s Mind: aletheasmind.wordpress.com

Teen, Meet God over at https://teenmeetgod.wordpress.com/

And anyone else who want to do it for fun.

My Questions:

  1. Do you know a really funny joke? If you do, share it!
  2. What in your opinion, is the most underrated song, book, movie, TV series, or anything for that matter?
  3. How do you enjoy nature?
  4. What is your favourite instrument?
  5. Hymns or contemporary music?
  6. If you could tell the whole word one single word, what word would that be?
  7. Do you think we should protect nature? If yes, then why?
  8. The year you enjoyed most in your life.
  9. One thing you’re thankful for as a human being.
  10. What makes you feel loved?
  11. A skill you developed on your own.

I just want to let everyone know that anyone is welcome to attempt any of these questions. Answer them in the comments. It could be a great way to connect.

Once again I thank Stu for this opportunity. Hope you guys have blast just existing on this beautiful planet!

Mystery Blogger Award

To my dear blogging family,

mystery-blogger2.jpg

Let me just start this post by apologizing for being away for so long. I’ve been taking a lot of classes and I’ve not had time to come here and just type away. But this post I knew I had to write because I owed it to my dear friend, Stu. He has been a constant source of pure inspiration and encouragement and I really admire what he’s doing over at his amazing blog, https://stubaby777.wordpress.com/

His blog is about how he overcame his porn addiction and how porn is destroying lives today. Thank you, brother for this nomination and for being such a great friend. Guys, do me a favor and go check out his amazing blog.

So, for those of you guys who don’t know about the Mystery Blogger Award, here’s some info from the creator Okoto herself.

“This is an award for amazing bloggers with indigenous posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging and they do it with so much love and passion.” – Award Creator, Okoto Enigma

Here are the rules:
1) Thank whoever nominated you and include link to their blog
2) Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
3) Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
4) Answer the questions from the person who nominated you
5) Nominate 5 -10 bloggers you feel deserve the award
6) Ask your nominees 5 questions of your choice with one weird or funny one
7) Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.

Okay here goes three things you might not know about me:

  1. I don’t like horror movies
  2. I absolutely love travel
  3. I want to do a concert by the Niagara Falls ( Yeah, I’m a bit crazy that way) 🙂

Here are the answers to Stu’s questions:

1. What topic would you like me to address here on my blog?

There’s no topic that comes to my mind on first thoughts but I do think it would make a great post if you shared the quotes and Bible verses that helped you on your way out of your porn addiction.

2. Would you accept the challenge to step out of your comfort zone and write a post about pornography and how it is affecting our youth and/or marriages? And if so, would you share the link in the comment section so my readers can see it?

Yes, Stu! I’d love to.

3. What is your favorite book in the Bible to read?

I love reading the first books of the old testament. 🙂

4. How do you study when reading said book?

I try to link it with what I read in the New Testament and I’ve come across some really fantastic stuff doing this. The amazing thing about the Bible is that it talks about Jesus from the first verse to the last verse.

5. Now for the funny/goofy question. This one I have been asked in the past because I grew up reading comic books and even now I watch The Arrow and The Flash. If you could have any super power in the world what would it be and how would you use it?

Humility and Forgiveness. One of the things I am working on right now in my life is to not get offended easily. I am trusting God to give me the strength to love everyone whatever they say or do to me.

My nominees:

  1. Teen, Meet God:- A place for teens to learn about living for God. https://teenmeetgod.wordpress.com/
  2. Jessy over at https://faithandbooks.com/

Accepting this award is completely up to you and it’s all about just having fun.

God bless you all!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Blogger Recognition Award

Hi, guys!

It’s another reason for celebration. I just got nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award. 🙂

Now when I say, I, you guys know I also mean ‘you’. Because whatever this blog has achieved, it’s because of you guys who choose to take the time to read this blog, share your ideas and encourage me. So, guys, thank you.

I would like to thank an absolutely amazing person for making this post a possibility. Warren, over at https://wcr281.com/ nominated me for this Award. Thank you so much, Warren! I am honoured! 🙂

Let’s get into it then, shall we?

Here are the rules:

1.Write a post to show your award.
2.Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
3.Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4.Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
5.Select other bloggers you want to give this award to.
6.Nominate 2-3 bloggers who you believe deserve to be recognized. Comment on their blogs, to let the nominees know they have been nominated.

The Story of how my blog started……..

Long, long ago, in a land where all teenagers cared about was writing blogs, there lived a boy…….. nah, this won’t work. I am going to stick with the normal way of doing this. 😊

As most of you guys know, I’m Stefan, a 17 year old, who loves to write. There are a lot of things that made me open my laptop, and open up who I am to the world. I am a dreamer. I live in a story of my own, a story in which I believe that the future’s going to be great for me. I believe God has my back. I am just a person like you, imperfect. But I like to think of my life as something great and amazing because I believe God made all of us to soar.

When I started this blog, I never thought it would grow this fast, but I must confess, I did believe that one day, I will reach millions. It might not happen, it may happen. I don’t worry myself about that. What I care about, is whether I dare to dream big. I don’t think there’s anything wrong in believing what you do will reach the greatest level you can imagine. And that dream, as impossible as it may seem, I believe, is what drives this blog.

I decided to blog because of a lot of reasons. I’ve always loved to write. I was always excited about the beauty around me. And language helped me share that excitement with other people. I don’t do a lot of social media. So, instead of starting a new facebook account, I decided to google ‘how to become a blogger’.

Owning your own website sounded special and I wanted to feel it. Also, there was the perk of introducing yourself as a blogger. Of course you can’t just walk around giving shake hands with a placard hanging from you neck that says: ‘hi, I’m a blogger’. But it does sound cool sometimes.

Of course, there was the fear of whether I would always have the right material. But there was an excitement I felt when I considered facing that challenge. And that I believe is the sign of passion. So, I jumped right in.

Over time, I learned about blogging by reading other people’s blogs. I loved the blogging community and it loved me back. And I absolutely loved all this love. And so, I was hooked!

It’s been over a year now since I googled ‘how to become a blogger’. Through my posts, I’ve tried to share with my reader’s, the world I see. I try to go beyond what I see, I try to knock them about in my mind, adding a little flavor of art and meaning to it. Perspective is a very beautiful thing. It’s like a Rubik’s cube for which every combination means ‘solved’. And this blog shares with you my perspective.

It’s been a great journey, but I am believing for more. 😊

My two pieces of advice:

1. Connect with people: Yes, this is a known way of increasing your traffic. But that must never be why you connect. You should connect to learn. You can just drop a like on every post you see or you can read every post you see and then drop a like on them. Connecting with the right people is also important. Find people who share your interests and enjoy what you do. Learn from them and connect with them. Connect with the people on their blogs. This not just connects you to people, it connects you to people who will enjoy what you do. This is why reading is important. Building your own community brings life to your blog.

2. The first part I think wraps it up. But tagging your posts, adding a picture, asking questions, all help. 🙂

My nominees:

1.Teen Meet God :- https://teenmeetgod.wordpress.com/

2.Something To Stu Over :- https://stubaby777.wordpress.com/

3.Grief to Life :- https://grieftolife.com/

I hope you guys have a great week. Keep smiling and remember to look around you and reach out and touch life, once in a while. 🙂

God bless you all! 🙂

Here’s to our second Liebster award and 202 followers!

4. provide 11 random facts about yourself.

3. What is your reason for starting your blog?

I’ve always worked towards being an all rounder instead of working towards being anyone in particular. If I can’t do something, it’s ok. But I try. Blogging was something like that. 3. Answer 11 questions the blogger gave you.
4. Nominate 11 bloggers, who deserve the award.
5. Create 11 original questions for the nominees to answer.
6. Let them know they’ve been nominated.

11 facts about myself:

1. I am a Christian. 🙂

2. I am a very shy person

3. I don’t have a TV!

4. I like dogs.

5. I play 3 instruments- guitar, piano and the mouth organ. But I know a little this and a little that about some other instruments as well.

6. My favourite hobby is just staring out the window in the morning and thinking.

7. My favourite homemade food is Appams and Chicken stew, a dish well known to South India. But when I go out for food, I love getting my hands on a plate of American Chop Suey.

8. I’ve always loved to recycle stuff. For example, I use magazines and stick their pages together to make tablecloths. 🙂

9. I love to write, sitting in the open, in the shade of a tree to be specific, though I am not always able to. 🙂

10. Most days, the only time I am not listening to music is when I am sleeping.

11. I love the colour blue! 🙂

My answers to Rageshree’s questions:

1. Which is you favorite book/movie and why?

My favourite book is the Bible. It brings God into my everyday life and adds colour and meaning to my perspective. I love animated movies( all of them) 🙂

2. If there is no internet connection in the house, what do you do for fun? [Don’t say: Try to connect the internet again or watch offline videos]

Haha 🙂 ! I would most probably stare out the window and think. But I also love to read and do my workouts. ( I’ve been reading a lot lately! )

3. If you had the chance to fly to any one place in the entire world, where would it be and why?

Wow! That’s a hard question. Probably Venice. I love the art and architecture there, not to mention the beautiful canals. Passing under a bridge many times in a row is something I’ve always wanted to do! lol! 🙂

4.Which is your favorite food item? In which country did it originate?

If it’s at home with my family, I love palappams and chicken stew,  a food known to South India. If I’m eating outside I’d probably go for an American Chop Suey.

5. If you had the chance to interview only one celebrity/world leader in this world, who would it be?

That’s a good question, but the list is so long for me. Billy Graham, probably.

6. If you weren’t allowed to pet dogs, cats, birds or fishes, which animal would you pet?

Haha! An elephant or a monkey .

7. Who is your role model and why? [Apart from yourself]

As a Christian, I find my role model in Jesus. Apart from who he is and what he has done for me, what makes him a role model in my life is the way he loved everyone, especially those most people chose not to love.

8. If you had the chance to empower the LGBT community by saying just 2 sentences, what would you say?

As a Christian, I firmly believe the biblical view regarding this topic. I also believe God loves each and every one of us. Know that you are loved.

9. You are unique. What is that one thing that makes you different from others?

I believe what makes me unique is my many traits, most of which are usually regarded as that of an introvert, mixed with my really talkative, outgoing and straightforward character. I am often shy when you first meet me, but once we know each other, I can be the most talkative and crazy enthusiastic person you will ever meet in your life. 🙂

10. What is the first quality that you want/see in your boyfriend/girlfriend/life partner?

What I would like to see in a life partner would be loyalty, and a love for God and life, enthusiastic and optimistic about everything life throws her way.

11. If you could write a short letter to your younger-self, what would you write in particular?

Wow! Great question! It think it would go something like this:

Hey, bro! Calm down. It’s not as hard as you think. Life’s filled with a lot of turns for the better. God’s in control. And oh, spend a little time cleaning your cupboard. ( It’s a mess now. Would save me a lot of trouble) lol! :). Don’t worry, be happy!
